Special Day

Good morning! I just learned something new today. Among the many emails I receive every day from blogs I learned about a special day, World Card Making Day.Isn't that fantastic? I got this info from the incredibly talented "Creations With Christina". It's Oct. 2. I had never heard of this. She's planning some special challenges and giveaways for that day. You might want to make as note of this on your calendar. I am and I can't wait. Sounds like fun. Hope everyone is having a great morning. I hope to work on a page for my grandson using his first paper he brought home. But first I have to pay some bills and grocery shop. You know men, they can't be satisfied with pb&j. Why can't things be easier, I just want to "cricut!"
God bless

Another thank you

A very good friend of my moms went to a neighbor kids birthday party and they gave her a "goodie" box to bring home. It had a lot of cute trinkets as well as candy so she saved it for my little grandson. Of course he loves all that little stuff. What little kid doesn't? So we made her a thank you. We used Just BecauseCards cartridge.TFL

Thank you for BFF

My best friend and neighbor just cameback from a vacation. They went to North Carolina and Washington, DC. They had a great time and one place they really liked was a huge farm they went to. You could buy fruit already picked or pick your own. They missed the blueberries but were able to get the farms own strawberry cider. I'm so lucky because they brought me a bottle back. So I'm sending strawberry thanks to them.

50th anniversary

Hi everyone. My sweet sister-in-law's in-laws are celebrating their 50th anniversary this weekend. I don't know why, but these are hard for me to make. I had to think ab0ut it for 3 days. And it is really pretty simple. Anyway, it's done. Hope they like it.

I used Storybook for the 5o and the topnote shape, Tie the Knot for the initial, and Paisley for the butterflies. Added some glitter, crystals and ribbon and "voila" it's done.

Haul at Big Lots

Finally I found something at Big Lots! When everyone else was finding cuttlebug dies and folders at BL, mine never had any.Well finally...today I found some. I bought 10 at $2.00 each. I was so excited. Several are Mickey holiday. The moral is, don't give up on BL. You may find a treasure when you least expect it. May we all get lucky sometimes.

School secretary - Thank you

The Secretary/school nurse helped me so much getting my grandson registered. Not an easy thing for a grandparent to do.It's been almost 20 yrs since I had to register a first-timer. So much red tape. So I was feeling pretty good when I took him to school for the first time yesterday. Then they gave me the "packet." I spent 1 1/2 hrs trying to fill out all of this stuff . I had such a headache. You would think he was applying for the Secret Service or something. I even had to put down his SSN 5 times. I really didn't like doing that, but he's got to go to school. Anyway, sorry to ramble, I made a quick "thank you" for the Sec./nurse. It's in our school colors, purple and white. TFL

3D Haunted House

Good morning everyone! I'm posting my first 3D haunted house. This one was done at 7". It was a practice one. This black cardstock is really too flimsy. I did this one Friday night in a little over 3 hrs. Saturday I found black poster board without a white core, so I'm going to make an 11" one and decorate it. Happy Hauntings has bercome one of my all time favorites. Every cut I've done so far has been so easy. I'm really looking forward to the next one. Hope you like it. I would love a comment or two. If yu would like to follow or subscribe that would be OK, too. I'd love the company.

Have a wonderful rest of your day.(Here it is the first day of school. My grandson starts Pre-K this afternoon-bittersweet)

God bless you all.

FYI - printing images of your carts

Good morning everyone. A blog I subscribe to had a great tip this morning. Sheila over at She's a Sassy Lady made a binder of images of the carts she owns, now they are all in one place and easy to find a certain cut when you can't remember which cart it is on.

I don't know about you, but I'm always grabbing the boxes and trying to scan for a particular cut. Let's face it, even with my glasses it's hard to see some of them. So here's the tip. Go to cricut.com, click information and then cartridge library. Click on the first "view" for each cart you own and print what you see on the cart packages when you buy them. It's ingenious! You store them in page protectors and put them in a binder. If you put each one in it's own page protector it's easy to add other's in alphabetical order as you buy more. You can add your own special notes about each cart in the back of the page protectors-you know, some cuts shouldn't be cut too small, some sizes of cuts you use a lot with your specifics. I think this will be very helpful. I just finished doing mine. Took 99 pages and over an hour. But I can't wait to get them in the page protectors. Thanks Sheila!
I now have a subscriber box for email updates. Would love the company.
Have a great morning
God Bless you all.

Halloween decoration for Grandson

My grandson, who lives with us, loves to "play" cricut with me. He is always having me cut things out for his walls or just to play with.So we have already done his Halloween sign for his closet door. He picked out almost all the cuts himself. I think next we will tackle the 3D house on Happy Hauntings. Hope you like it. Wouldn't mind a comment or two. Hope everyone has a great evening.

Attn. Special announcement

Hi everyone. Just wanted to let you all in on a secret. My very talented and beautiful sister has added another facet to her wonderful jewelry line. She is now doing metalwork. She just started and already she is doing great. She has the cutest id bracelets. (so cute for gifts or extra stocking stuffers) And she is doing a one of a kind necklace with all handmade (by her) links. You should check out her blog to see what she's been up to. http://beadusenseless.blogspot.com At least I didn't forget her address this time. Also don't forget about the blog candy below. Add a comment and become a follower. That's all it takes. My sister loves followers, too. She also has an etsy store you can check out and she will work with you if you want something custom.

Made my 1st Christmas card of 2010

Hi, all. Well I decided to make a quick card to use a couple of scrap cuts left over from Lacy Labels. Did I say quick? Yeah, right. It would have been easier to shred the scraps! (but who can do that?) Anyway, not being in "Christmas" mode it took some time. The card itself is pretty simple, but as uual, I obsess over what cuts to use and paper. Hope you like.

And Merry Christmas.

Mom's b-day card.

Hi everyone. My mom has a birthday next month. I'm so glad I got her card finished early. I've even done a Christmas card. I don't have too many to do for Sept., so maybe I can get my Christmas list done. Anyway, here is my mom's card. I used Wallk in my Garden, Lacy Labels and Beyond Birthdays. Take a peek and let me know what you think.

Contest error

Hi, everyone. Did any one else see the post about the contest for projects to be featured in cricut's next infomercial. Well I hurried and created this card. Probably not what they were looking for, but it doesn't matter anyway because it is only open to circle members. Maybe we'll win the lottery so I can be a circle member. lol ( I guess you have to buy tickets to have a chance to win, don't you?) So, I guess this card is really for me! Wouold love to know what you think.

I used Potpourri Basket, Cuttin' Up, Home Accents, Going Places, and Don Juan.
