Beginning February birthdays

Good afternoon. Hope everyone who is under the weather is on the mend.I'm actually sounding like a female again. Although I'm told that you still have bouts of coughing for about 3 weeks. I guess I'm gonna live. lol Todays post is a birthday card for my oldest, he's turning 40. (he doesn't want to hear it) He loves golf as well as fishing, kayaking, and biking. When he was here he and his dad played as much as the weather would allow. That prompted this card.

I used Sports Mania and Paper Lace for the whole thing. Hope he likes it and I hope you do, too. Thanks for looking and God Bless you all. Stephanie

Another day, Another sniffle!

Hope everyone is having a great morning. I did another challenge last night, FCCB. We were to use a NEGLECTED cartridge not used for at least 6 months. I have a few but I chose My World.  I cut the scroll at 3 inches with layers and the words were cut at 1" from Stand and Salute. (another neglected cartridge) Added a little Cuttlebug and that's it.
Hope you like it. Thanks for looking and God Bless you all. Stephanie

Good morning

I'm so glad you can't hear me. If you did you'd want to wear a mask (germs) for protection just to read this post. lol  I think my sinus problems are adding an old-fashioned cold into the mix. This crazy weather, 30's at night and near 70 during the day, and every few days we get horrible rain.YUCK!!!  The other day I ran into an old high school friend who has not had a very good year. She's had 2 big surgeries (back and neck) and also survived a very bad infection. She's finally getting out a little and standing straight for the first time in months. She's in the nursing field and had to retire for health reasons. Now she's getting bored. (she always worked ) Of course I told her she should get into scrapbooking and cardmaking. (sweet of me, huh?)
So anyway, I wanted to send her a card.

I used Paper Lace for the sentiment cut at 2 7/8" and Straight from the Nest for the flower cut at 3". Thanks for looking a d God Bless you all. Stephanie

2 for the price of 1

Good afternoon. I just finished a card for 2 challenges. At Bitten by the Bug2 the challenge was to use Once Upon a Princess, the butterfly cut on page 59. (or another butterfly if you don't have OUAP) On Holy Cricut (a new blog to me) you were supposed to make a card using blue, yellow, green and make it summer. I think the butterflies make it summer and I used OUAP for the cuts. The butterfly was cut at 2" and the frog was cut at 2 1/2".
Thanks for looking. God Bless you all and I'll see you tomorrow. Stephanie

Good morning! (said in sing song)

I hope everyone is having a great Tuesday. Me - sinuses still yucky and I think I'm developing a cough - great fun. Oh well I'm making a big pot of split-pea soup and yesterday we had gumbo, that seems to make me feel better. So this is a good excuse to stay in and craft, right? Always a silver lining.

OK, so onto the card. This is a card for another Aunt and I think this finishes up January. I used Birthday Bash and Paper Lace. BB - card cut at 5 5/8", tag at 6 1/4" cut 3 times, presents cut at 4 1/4" and sundae cut at 2". PL - Happy Birthday cut at 3". Hope you like it and thanks for looking.
Stay warm, well and happy crafting. God Bless you all. Stephanie

Birthday alert!

Today is My Pink Stamper, Robyn's birthday. Happy Birthday, Robyn! She has a challenge to make a birthday project for her day. This is what I made. Thanks for looking and God Bless. Stephanie

Good morning everyone!

Hope everyone is doing well. Our weather is terrible, cold, rainy, gloomy and my sinuses are working overtime. But I'm only half sick. Not the half that lets you go to bed, just the half that lets you feel really rotten. So I intend to spend most of the day doing what makes me happy - playing in my Cricut room.
Yesterday I was so excited, I got to make a layout. It's not elaborate but I really like it. It's not even a recent picture but I like it.
Anyway here's the recipe A Child's Year - boy fishing-2 3/4", duck-1" ; Going Places - boat-1 1/2";and Designer's Calendar - date-1 1/2". The paper is from the DCWV Lodge stack. (so glad I bought this one)
So thanks for looking, hope you like it, too. Be well, be creative and God Bless you all. Stephanie

Hi, everyone!

I did a very long blog hop this morning, over 40 blogs. I don't usually do these long ones because they take so much time. But I had a very lazy morning. Then I took my grandson to a birthday party. Tonight I actually got a card made. The card I'm posting now is for one of my nieces.
It's really pretty simple. I used Lacy Labels and Lovely Floral  for this one. Hope she likes it.

Thanks for looking and God Bless you all. Stephanie

So we are super excited that my niece is having a girl next month, on 1 of my sons birthdays. (3 of my sons were born in February) Since she has a darling 4 yr old son, she's having a "small-stuff" shower to celebrate. This is the I bought Sugar and Spice. I made all the cuts from this cart. Good morning!

It's very cold here in southeast Texas. At least it will only last a couple of days at a time, that's good. The bad part is it really screws up the sinuses. Anyway, yesterday was my "besties" birthday. I got her a card made and it really is simple. If only I didn't obsess over which papers I want to use.
This morning in my emails, Going Buggy is having a challenge so I can use this card for that, too. I love how this worked out.I really like challenges but don't get to do many. Something always gets in the way of my playing. lol

I used Paperlace for the cuts, some flowers I had on hand, a few gems and a ladybug button. Thanks for looking and have a creative day. God Bless you all. Stephanie
You should check out Going Buggy. She is having a week long party with lots of challenges and lots of prizes. Today - make a card - any subject, size, shape you want. Just use a bug on it. What fun!

Pretty Feminine Sympathy card

Good morning, everyone. I tried to post this last night but blogger wouldn't cooperate and post my pics. So maybe the third times the charm.
Yesterday I had to make a sympathy card for a special lady who died Sunday. (Sunday's post) This was such a lovely person. She was beautiful inside and out, everyone loved her.

This is her card. I used Storybook, George, Paperlace, Straight from the Nest and Easter 2010 cartridges and a few pearls. Thanks for looking and God Bless. Stephanie

Glad to be back!

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. My son went back home to Florida Saturday and I put my craftroom back in order. After 2 1/2 weeks without my cricut, it was hard to get in the groove. I procrastinated all day. I knew I had to make a birthday card for my SIL. (whose b-day is today, the 9th)
I actually got it done and was going to bring it to her today, when we got word that her MIL passed away this morning. I was very glad I had not mailed it for her to get tomorrow. Now we will wait several days for her b-day. It's hard when a loved one dies on your b-day. My FIL died the day before mine 10 yrs ago and I had a nephew die on my b-day a couple of years ago. You never forget.

Anyway, here's her birthday card. I hope to get back to creating (daily, I hope) Thanks for being patient with me. My holidays were mixed with some very personal sadness for me. Right now I still can't write about it, too fresh.

Happy New Year!

I hope everyone is well and happy. My son is here for 1 more week and I can't craft when we have guests. I have to dismantle my cricut room so we can set up a bed. I barely have time to look at emails. I'm having withdrawals. Between My mom, my dog and all the cooking and visiting, not much time.

So please don't forget about me, I'll be back. Today I'll just post a few of my favorites from last year.
Thanks for looking. God Bless. Stephanie
