Good use of a challenge card

You may remember about 3 months ago I posted this card for a FCCB challenge. I never finished the inside because I wasn't sure what it would be used for.  Well I found the perfect job for it. This very good family friend is undergoing chemo and his birthday was yesterday. He's also the most patriotic man I know.
So I think he will appreciate this card. I think it turned out to be perfect for him.
I used 2 cartridges for this card, My World and Stand and Salute.
My World - scroll cut at 3", towncrier cut at 2 3/8"
Stand and Salute - Life and Liberty cut at 1"
pursuit of happiness cut at 1 3/8"
statue of liberty cut at 3"
                             liberty bell cut at 1/2"

Thanks for looking and God bless you all. Hugs, Stephanie

Good evening

I just got back from a ball game. This was their first loss. Very close and a good game. But before the game I got a card made. I just felt too lazy to look through carts and find what I needed so I used my Gypsy so I wouldn't have to bother with carts. That's a good thing, I need the practice. The bad part is I sized  everything to fit an A2 card and forgot to write down what the numbers were from my Gypsy screen.
Anyway, this card is for my bff. Her dad just had surgery and she's been taking care of him and her mom. Her hubby is retired so he helps. She just got her house back to normal after her mother-in-law  left. She was there for 3 1/2 months with a broken ankle, could put no weight on it. So I'm sending her "patience."
I used Billionaire Lite to weld "patience" and "a virtue", the label is from Stamping and make a wish is from Birthday Bash. The flowers were leftovers and a punch, and I added some ribbon and some bling. The sentiment on the inside is me and the computer.

Thanks for looking and God Bless you all. Hugs, Stephanie

Big nite and niece gets certified

Hi. Tonites the big nite. Is everyone ready? I'll miss dancing with the stars to watch all the fun.

In the meantime I have a card I made for our niece who passed her boards for heart sonagrams. She's so smart and very dedicated. Now she needs a terrific job. Any cardiologist office would be so lucky to get her.

Over the weekend we were talking about my cricut obsession and now they know I have a blog. She got her card today so now it's safe to post it.

I used Paper Lace to make this one. I used lace 2 on page 54 and cut it at 4". I sized the "congrats" in DS to fit on top of the lace cut. The rose on the inside is cut at 5". Add a few crystals for bling and "Voila."

Thanks for looking and God Bless you all. Hugs, Stephanie

2nd post - Guest designer!!!

That's right, me. I have been awarded the great honor of being guest designer at http://myshericrafts.blogspot.com/. Thank you so much Sheri. I'm so excited. This s my first time to be a guest designer. She has a new challenge each week and this week it's 3D.
For my project I made some things to decorate for Easter. Since they aren't strictly Easter they will work for spring and summer.

I decorated a flameless candle with a MS punch and a layered butterfly. The jar candle has a different punch, layered flowers and a layered butterfly. The napkin rings are 5 1/2" strips of paper with a doily punch and flowers. For the basket I used double-sided paper and added layered flowers.
This is the list of carts:
Ashlyns Alphabet - 2 flourishes on flameless candle cut at 1"
Mother's Day Bouquet - assorted flowers cut at 1 1/4, 1 1/2. 1 3/4, 2, 2 1/2 and 3"; leaves - 2"and 2 1/2"
Easter 2010 - basket cut at 11"
MS Elegant Cake - butterflies-3 layers each cut at 2 1/2" and 3"
I want to thank Sheri again for giving me this opportunity. You should visit her blog and her online store. She has great prices.
Thank you for visiting, I love the company. God Bless you all and come back soon. Hugs, Stephanie

The moral to this story - Patience!

Good morning. Hope everyone is well even if disappointed. I've been looking forward to the new carts for 2 days now. I guess patience is a virtue (though its never been a big one of mine). Maybe PC is trying to teach us something.Maybe we'll be whipped up in such a frenzy that we will buy everything for fear of being left out. But as usual I'll have to wait and see and hope I don't have to have everything!

OK I have a card to post. My nephew had a strange accident that really did a number on his ankle. He had surgery a week ago and is finally doing better. He's getting around pretty well on crutches. So I decided to combine a "get well" with an Easter card. (aren't we cardmakers so resourceful?)

I used 2 cartridges for this one - Create a Critter and Easter 2010.

CAC - bunny cut at 4", and carrot crutches cut at 11/4"

Easter 2010 - egg and layer cut at 3 3/4"

Stamped sentiment and computer generated inside sentiment.

Thanks for looking and as always God Bless you all. Hugs, Stephanie

Hello Friday?

Well, I guess we're all waiting with bated breath for the release. I hear it's a big one. I actually got 2 cards made this afternoon and finished one in progress.
I have a sister who has a birthday next month. She's my youngest sister, "the baby." I used the new Damask Decor and Birthday Bash.
For Damask Decor I cut the present on the card feature at 5". Birthday Bash was used for birthday wishes cut at 3 1/2" and the dog cut at 2 3/4".

Thanks for looking and God Bless you all. Hugs, Stephanie

B-day party

Hi everyone. Hope you're all having a great week.  My grandson went to his cousins birthday party and had a great time at the park. I had to take a pic of him with the present and of course He wants it posted. So here it is. He wanted the boys name on the ag and he picked out the cut for the tag.
He will be so pleased you looked.
God Bless you all. Hugs, Stephanie and Gabe

Good evening!

Feels like forever since I've posted. I've been busy dealing with mom's estate, making treat bags for my grandson's class and making a project for a guest designer spot. Yes, I was picked to be guest designer for next week at My Sheri Crafts. I'm so excited. This is my first time to be asked. I'll be able to post next week.
Tonight I am posting a little picture of the simple treat bags I made. They are very simple, I had to make 32 of them.
The toppers are cut 4"x4" scored and folded in half, the bunnies are cut at 2" from the Easter 2010 cartridge.I I added a pom pom tail and a googly eye and called it a day. I think the kid will like it.
Thanks for looking and God Bless you all. Hugs, Stephanie

This may help you, too!

I hope everyone is well today. This is not a card or project post. This is a little info story.
Thursday I bought 3 of the newest carts at Michaels. (Elegant Edges, Damask Decor and Everyday Pop-ups) When I got home Elegant Edges (EE) would not link to my Gypsy. I emailed PC. I got an answer that afternoon to call them the next day.
We tried a couple of things over the phone and it didn't work. She said they would have to send me  a new one.
Okay to the point of this story. I had to register the bad cartridge in my account with cricut.com to be able to get a new one. I started out registering my carts but then I got my Gypsy and thought it was the same thing to link them. Well, it isn't. It's really 2 separate things and you need to do both.
So instead of creating, I have been entering ALL my cartridges in my Cricut account. Now if anything happens to my Gypsy there is a record of the carts I have.
This took a lot of time but now I'm a lot better off if I have a Gypsy problem.
If you haven't registered with cricut.com I urge you to do so.
I've got a busy day with my grandson. Visit the Easter bunny at Walmart this morning and a birthday party for his cousin this afternoon. So after I get the gift this morning I have to make a card and gift bag for the party. Then there is the usual, laundry, lunch and I have to get dressed. So when am I gonna get to "play?"
Thanks for stopping by. God Bless you all. Hope to see you again soon. Hugs, Stephanie

kneeling boy cut at 3 1/4"
Listen to the spirit cut at 2 1/4"

Thanks for looking and have a great weekend. God Bless you all. Hugs, Stephanie

Hello Thursday! Hello Thursday!

Hope all is well with all of you. Last night while I was playing around with some sketches, I realized I had to have a baptism and first communion card. They are both happening on the same day, different churches.

On the morning of May 1st, my niece is having her new baby baptized. I got her card done last night. So tonight I have to make my grandson's first communion card.

Well, I've been very good about writing things down. This time I hadn't rewritten the instructions in my notebook and I can't find them. So here's the cartridges and cuts I did, I just can't remember the sizes.

Inspired Heart - baptism

Wedding - cross

MS Elegant Cakes - butterfly inside and on matching envelope.

Thanks so much for looking and God Bless you all. Hugs, Stephanie

Good evening

Well I got a card made. Yay! I used sketch no. 1 on RAQ's challenge. The sketches sort of challenge me. I usually have to have a reason for a card and go from there. This way it starts with someone else's idea. A real different way of thinking.
OK, here's the recipe:
Slumber Party - pizza slice and layers cut at 2 1/4", scalloped square cut at 3 1/2" and rounded square cut at 2 3/4"
Celebrate with Flourish - wine bottle cut at 3 1/2"
sentiments are stamped.

Thanks so much for looking and God Bless you all. Hugs, Stephanie

FYI

Hi. No project just yet. Just a little tidbit.
Since my mom died we have had to do a lot of things we've never done before. It can be very overwhelming.
But there seems to be a very common thing among the widows I know. They don't get their utilities and other bills put in their names. My dad died in "04. It makes it hard to discontinue utilities like the phone service and it's hard to cash any refund checks.
The one thing she did that has helped is put me on her bank account. At least I can write checks for the bills we have to keep paying till things are settled and we can sell the house.
Just thought this might help someone in the future. Hope it does.
Thanks for looking and God Bless you all. Hugs, Stephanie

Great Monday evening

I hope eveyone had a great day. We just got back from our 10 yr old grandsons baseball game. I think he's really enjoying playing this year. He's doing so well this year. It makes for a great game. I'm hoping I can get some mojo going tonight .
This post is the third sketch for RAQ's challenge. I really like this one. The idea came to me late one night as I was going to bed. I had to rough sketch before I forgot. The next day, I still liked it. So here it is.
I used:
Country Life - pie cut at 1 1/2"
Preserves - apple, cherry & peach all cut at 1"
Mini Monograms - scalloped squares-3 cut at 1 1/2", one cut at 3" and manipulated in DS

Thanks so much for looking and God Bless you all. Hugs, Stephanie

Happy Sunday!

Hope everyone is having a great day.  Trying to work through the "pain." Sorry to be so dramatic. Our crazy weather wreaks havoc with headaches and arthritis. Today it's in the 80's, two days ago it was in the 40's over night. No wonder we're all a little crazy! lol
Anyway, I made this cute card and took care of 2 challenges, RAQ's (had to use a sketch) and My Sheri Crafts (had to use buttons) I think it turned out pretty cute.
Here's how it was created:
Bloom Lite - branch cut at 1 1/4"
Create a Critter - worm cut at 1 1/2"
Songbird - labels cut at 1 1/4", 1 3/8" and 1 1/2"
Mini Monograms - smile cut at 1 3/8"
A few buttons, pop dots and bling for eyes and your done.

I hope you like it I love the company. Thank you so much for looking and God Bless you all. Hugs, Stephanie

RAQ's Challenge and anniversary card

Hope you're all having a great evening. Mine is better than last night. I had to take pain meds and couldn't design anything. Next time I may just hurt. Thank goodness I don't have the need for meds often.
This card takes care of 2 things. I was hoping to join RAQ's challenge and I needed an anniveersary card for my niece and her husband.
I seem to be stuck on this color scheme. I really like it. I used 4 carts on this crd.
Mini Monograms - scalloped circles cut at 3,2 1/2, 2"
Mother's Day Bouquet - layers cut at 1 3/8, 1, &1/2"; large flower-2 3/4,2,&1 1/8"
MS Elegant Cakes - Happy Anniversary - 1 1/2"
Ashlyn's Alphabet - flourish2 1/2" and 1"

Windy Wednesday!

Hi, all! It's a very windy month so far and today is awful. My grandson started coughing as soon as we got outside. He told me I gave him this crazy allergy by taking him out. (he may be right) Anyway, here is a card for another challenge.
This challenge is for http://mycraftspot.blogspot.com/. You are to use a "bug" , any bug and make a card.  My bee is from Birthday Bash and cut at 4". The sentiment is my own. I wanted to use a bug I don't normally think of. So I spent time looking for one I haven't used before and thought up a cute phrase.
I hope you like it. Thanks for looking and God Bless you all. Hugs, Stephanie

Still trying!

Well, it's Tuesday and I thought I had things figured out. I keep getting the "your internet has stopped working" message when I post. Two days ago I went to my draft and right clicked and copied and pasted into "new post" and it worked. I didn't have to retype everything. Well, guess what? Today right clicking didn't give me the "copy-paste" option. This is nuts. I don't kow what to do. I guess I will just retype everythng.
OK back to business. I did a challenge at BBB2. Make a card with sentiments from Mother's Day cart. Decided to make just something simple but I love it. I'm going to use it for my mother-in-law. It is a simple card but I really like it a lot.  I think she will too.

The only cricut is the 2 sentiments cuts.  I hope you like it too. Thanks for looking and God Bless you all. Hugs, Stephanie

Hello Monday!

Is everyone energetic today. I'm dragging. In fact I've been dragging for at least 2 years. lol I would love to wake up with energy.I can't remember the last time I did. Too much stress. So enter my cricut therapy. I can loose myself.
Last week I saw a challenge at BBB2 to make a card with a Disney cut. (new one if you have one) Well, I have both new ones. I love Bambi so I was going to use one of those. This was after 10:30 pm (late for me) when I started it. OMGosh thise little pieces. And there was 4 little brown ones that I never figured out where they went. So I scrapped it. I decided to do Flower instead.
Flower - Disney Classics - cut at 3 3/4"
flower on inside - I-top punches alittl bling and ribbon and you're done. Computer generated sentiment courtesy of my own mind.

Thanks for looking and God Bless you all. Hugs, Stephanie

Happy Sunday

Wow, I hope everyone is having a great weekend. My Saturday was very full.(got to spend time with2 of my sisters-always fun) One of them was helping me set up an Etsy shop. Things just wouldn't cooperate. She worked for hours trying to change my avatar. But I think I know how to edit and resize my photos when needed. So all was not lost. It doesn't matter what we are doing, we usually have a good time.

OK, back to business. I started the day with a wedding shower, I decorated the bag and made the card the night before. When I got up Saturday morning I had 3 hours before I had to leave and I decided it needed a tag, Easy right? It took me 2 hours! I put the paper wrong on the mat and it didn't cut right. Finally got that cut and I anted to put a reinforcement on the hole. Easy right? Friday night I saw one in a handbook, heart shaped, perfect except I couldn't remember where I saw it. Finally found it, got it all together then I had to rush.

So here's a pic of the bag and card. I used Tie the Knot, Wedding Solutions and Sweethearts

BTW, the reinforcement is on page 79 in Sweethearts, shift. I bet I won't forget this very soon!

Oh great now I'm typing in "Italics". I don't know what I hit so I guess I'll type this way till someone enlightens me.

Thanks for looking and God Bless you all. Hugs, Stephanie
I just had to add this, I get an error message - your internet has stopped working - ninety percent of the time.  Happens when I get ready to add the pictures. This morning it did it again, I usually have to write down what I typed and then retype it and delete the first one that saved.I try to edit the post but I can't figure out how. Today I got a bright idea. Why don't I try copy and paste!! DUH! It worked. I guess my "old" brain is perking on all cylinders today! YEA!!! OK, I'm done. Have a great one. Hugs, Stephanie
