Good morning

Hope everyone is rested and ready to begin a "normal" rest of the week.
The card I have for you today is for my mother-in-law's birthday next week. We have lots of June birthdays so it keeps me on my toes to make different cards for everyone.
The front of this card has a large flower on it. Diane @ Capadia Designs posted the instructions for this one. She received a promotional bouquet to invite new members into the Cricut Circle for a free 3-month trial. She figured out a way to make the flowers. Very easy and I love the result.
Inside I used Elegant Edges to cut swirl no.1 with the blockout at 4 1/2 ", the square frame with the shadow cut at 4 1/2" and Paper Lace to cut happy birthday with the shadow cut at 3". I added some punched flowers and bling to dress it up a bit.

Thanks for looking and God Bless you all. Hugs, Stephanie

Happy Memorial Day

Hope everyone is able to relax today. Schools here are not out until June 2nd and they have to make-up a "bad weather" day today. (What a bummer.)  Anyway I did get a few cards made this weekend. I have June taken care of.
This one is an anniversary card for my son and daughte-in-law. Their anniversary is June 6th but they took advantage of this 3-day weekend to go to Miami to celebrate and relax. They will be back today.
Here's the card and the recipe.
I used Sweethearts cart for the silhouette couple cut at 3 1/2"
Tie the Knot cart - Forever with shadow cut at 1 1/2"
MS Elegant Cake cart - Happy Anniversary with shadow cut at 1 1/2"
Add a little bling, MS corner punch and ribbon and it's done.

Thanks for looking and God Bless you all.Hugs, Stephanie

Good morning!

I have finally been able to get some of my cards done the last 2 days. I needed a simple graduation card for "very" extended family that is very generic. On this one all you have to do is change the colors.
The card was cut from Wrap It Up cut at 4" and Congrats and the shadow was cut from Life's a Party cut at 1".
I have to say that cutting congrats at 1" leaves some really thin lines on some of the letters. I mean REALLY thin.My "E" would never have cut it well but my "E2" cut it perfect. I think that's the skinniest cuts I've ever made. I am really liking this machine. I'll just be glad when I get my replacement Gypsy so I can control where I put my cuts on the mat. I also miss my "hide contour".
OK, enough gab. Here's the simple card. (really simple)

Thanks for looking and God Bless you all. Hugs, Stephanie

Birthday card

Hi, everyone. This is a birthday card for my youngest sister. Today is her birthday and her card is in the mail so it's OK to post it.
I used Damask Dcor for the present card cut at 5", Birthday Bash for Birthday Wishes cut at 3 1/2", and the dog is cut at 2 3/4". ( I don't remember what cart it's from-I did not write that one down)

Thanks for looking and God Bless you all. Hugs, Stephanie

Try again

Well I decided to try posting a pic again this afternoon. This time I had to sign in to get a pic from my computer. Who knows what that's about. Anyway this is the pic of me that I tried to post before.
Thanks for looking. God Bless you all. Hugs, Stephanie

An apology!

I don't want anyone to think I haven't been checking on their blogs, but "blogger" won't let me leave comments. All this week I have tried several times to leave comments and when I hit post it takes me to the screen where you have to type in your email and password. I do that and hit "post" again and it takes me back to the "email, password " screen. No matter how many times I try, it does the same thing. I have visited so many of you and seen such wonderful projects in the last few days, it really disturbs me that I can't leave a comment.
Just know that I am looking and I will keep trying.
I still don't have a card done, although I have half a dozen I need to do, I thought I would post a very "old" picture of me when I was 2 yrs old. One of "millions" of pictures we had to remove from my mom's house.
Thanks for looking and God Bless you all. Hugs, Stephanie
Well, Blogger won't let me post the pic. I get "server rejected". Anyone know anything about that?

Bits & Pieces

I haven't been able to post lately. I also haven't been able to craft either. We are still going through things at my moms. We are trying to get all personal things disposed of before the sell. So much stuff. We thought we had shredded all the paper work with vital info on it. We found some big plastic bins which we thought had just memories in them, but guess what? It was more papers. Financial, bills, insurance etc. It all has to be gone through and shredded. It seems everyday we find something else.  So many of the older papers have their SSN on them. It's just so overwhelming.
Anyway the point of this post (there really IS a point) is not to leave all the outdated paperwork for your kids to deal with. It would have been so nice if my mom had gone through all the OLD papers when she was sitting and not able to do much else. My dad died in "04 and there was all the papers from his years of illness. Medicare, insurance, doctors, hospitals, surgeries, therapy, everything pertaining to him. It's just too much.
So if possible, do your family a favor and don't keep 40+ years of papers.
I hope this helps someone. God Bless you all. Hugs, Stephanie

More E2

I got to play around a little more this evening.  Of course, my grandson wanted me to work for him. He picked a cut off of Spongebob, Gary.  Next he wants the treedome and Plankton.
I think this one was cut at 71/2", all layers.
So far the only thing that bugs me about this machine is the fact that you can't place things where you want on the mat. You can add spaces between cuts but when it adds another row of cuts they are placed as close as possible to the top row. I don't know how to get around this.
I'm hoping when I get my replacement Gypsy it all works together to take care of this.
Anyway here's Gary.
Thanks for looking and God Bless you all. Have a great weekend. Hugs, Stephanie

Good Morning!!!

Hi, all. I know I've been MIA lately, couldn't be helped. It's very hard to do what I want to do when there is so many "have to do" things right now. I just haven't been able to relax and enjoy my hobby. Yesterday was a little better and then it got a lot better, I got my E2! Yippee!!!
I watched some videos yesterday morning before it was delivered at 11:40 CST and read through the guide. All worked easy and I made a cut right away. I hate to waste cuts, so I cut all the layers and decided to make a companion cut with layers from Just a Note. Then I chose a couple of phrases from American Alphabet and turned my sample cuts into a card. Just couldn't help myself. I'm so glad we have the booklets. It felt so good to create something, even this simple card. I hope I can keep going, but we'll be going through more stuff at my mom's this weekend and that throws off my thought processes.

Anyway, here's the simple (but kinda cute) card. Thanks so much for bearing with me. Have a great rest of the week. God Bless you all. Hugs, Stephanie

Bloggers back??? I think?

I've had lots of trouble with my blog the last few days. Right now it's letting me post. Hope I get it finished.
I got one of my cards for June done. This sister's birthday is a month from today. We're still dealing with my mom's estate so not a lot of time to craft. Haven't been able to participate in any hops or many challenges. Hopefully things will settle down soon.
Anyway, here's her card and the recipe.
I used Damask Decor, page 50 for the card cut at 4 1/4"; the envelope is cut at 4 1/2".
Happy Birthday is from MS Wlwgant cut at 2 1/4". A stamped message, punched flowers and a little bling.

Hope you all have a great weekend and thanks for looking. God Bless you all. Hugs, Stephanie

Cricut-tastic Blog Award

Hello, everyone. I received a very special award, the Cricut-tastic Award. from Glenda at http://glendascards.blogspot.com/. She is one of my new friends from blogland. She is sooo talented and I thank her very much for thinking of me. She does beautiful work and has some gorgeous cards posted right now. I love, love, love her side step Mother's Day Card. So thanks a bunch Glenda.
The rules are simple. Post 5 things about yourself and send it along to anyone you think is Cricut-tastic. That could be a neverending list so I will have to choose just a few.
5 Things, hmmm
1.I'm obsessed with all things Cricut and wish I could get everything.
2.I'm learning self-control by limiting my self to certain products. (not fun)
3. I ordered my "E" from the infomercial so I could get the Potpourri cartridge because it had cuts from lots of other carts so I wouldn't need to buy many.(you can guess how that worked out)
4. I'm the only one who does paper crafts in my family.
5. I just ordered the "E2" and I wish I had the Imagine.
I would like to forward this award to:
Scrapper69 (Theresa) at http://miislucky.blogspot.com/
Mimi at http://miislucky.blogspot.com/
Bobby and Jill at http://cricutcouple.blogspot.com/
Nana Donna at http://nanadonnascarddreams.blogspot.com/
Flemenco92627 at http://4goofballs.blogspot.com/
Jayne at http://jayne-designs.blogspot.com/
Each one of these ladies and gentleman are so very talented. I hope you stop by and visit with each one of them. You will be so inspired.
As always thank you so much for stopping by and leaving comments. I spend my days with a 5 year old and and this is wonderful contact with adults who have the same interests I do. Thank you all and God Bless.
Glenda, thanks again.
Hugs, Stephanie

5th Challenge

This is My Pink Stamper's 5th Challenge - something 3D. I made a gift bag  and decorated it.
The gift bag is from Wrap it Up cut at 9" and the tag cut at 2 1/4"
The butterfly jar and butterflies are from Kate's ABC's cut at 3 1/2". Some ribbon from Michaels and a stamp and stickles. I hope to do 1 or 2 more challenges tomorrow if time allows. I really enjoy these.
Thanks for looking and God Bless. Hugs, Stephanie

My Pink Stamper celebration

You all know about MPS challenges today, well I hoped to participate more, but it just didn't work out. I don't think I got to sit and try to create more than 15 minutes at a time. Tomorrow I'm cooking foreveryone so I don't see much creating then either.
So far I've only done 2 of them.  The first one I did was the first challenge of the day. You had to use a cupcake.  I used Once Upon a Princess for the cupcake cut at 7". Mother's Day Bouquet for the flowers 5 cut at 1 1/4" and 5 cut at 3/4". Love Struck for Sweetie cut at 1".
Thanks for looking and God Bless you all. Hugs, Stephanie

National Scrapbooking Day! Yippee!

I would love to spend the day with my Cricut and computer but, alas, life gets in the way. I'm cooking for Mother's Day tomorrow and today is prep day and back to the store to get the things I forgot yesterday.  I can't seem to get everything in one trip or at one store. But every free minute I will be back here in my "cricut cave".
I haven't used my cricut in a week but I did design a couple of b-day cards for my sisters in DS and the last 2 days I created a Kusudama ball. I never heard of this before either so it caught my attention.
I subscribe to lots of different blogs and I read there posts while drinking my coffee every morning. That's how I wake up each day.
Anyway, a couple of days Bobby Jo at Sweet Sassy Diva posted this project, a flower ball. It's folded paper glued together to make 5 petal flowers. You use 60 3" squares all folded into petals, 5 petals to a flower and you make 12 flowers. Not hard but takes a good bit of time.
This is the site for the tutorial http://foldingtrees.com/2008/11/kusudama-tutorial-part-1 . When you read it there is a link to click for part 2 that shows how to put it together. I made one for my mother-in-law for tomorrow. (she's such a peach) I think she will like it.
I really want to remember this for the holidays. I think they would be beautiful for Christmas and great for showers.
OK here's the picture, hope you like it.
Thanks for looking and have a great Mother's Day. god Bless you all. Hugs, Stephanie
