Yea! It's Friday

Good afternoon everyone. I got a much longed for package in the mail yesterday. My Art Philosophy bundle came! I have wanted this one since it came out but I had a rule. Never pay more than $50. for a cart. Well I've paid $50 for 2 carts and it nearly killed me. I really like a bargain.
So it's taken me all this time to bite the bullet.  Today I played with it a little.
I decided to enter a challenge at BBTB2 - use a bee or ladybug.
Here's the recipe:
Sentimentals - bee cut @ 1.71, page 44
Art Philosophy -flowers font shift cut @ 2.88, 2.41, 2.18 page 68
card feature cut @ 4.88, layer cut @ 4.18 and square 3 cut at 4.88 on page 43
punches and dies and glitter

Thanks for looking. Have a great weekend. Hugs and God bless. Stephanie

New card

Hi, everyone. I have a simple card for you today.
One of our nieces just got engaged and we went to a party last night.
At the last minute I made this card. Yesterday was not the most successful crafting day. Did some glass etching, then broke it. Didn't leave much time for making a card.
I used the proposal and the OXO cut from Sweethearts. Didn't record the sizes but they fit on an A2 card.
The shapes are scalloped oval nesties.
I told you it was really simple.

Thanks for looking and have a great crafting day.
Hugs and God bless. Stephanie

Flower candle holder

Hi. I hope you are all having a great weekend. I haven't had much chance to craft. We had a baby shower and a birthday party yesterday. In between we were looking at vehicles. It is exhausting trying to absorb all the information, but I'm learning what I like and don't like. I also never used to speak up when I didn't like something, but not anymore! I have finally found my voice. I've learned to tell the salesman right away when he is trying to steer me to something I don't want.
Oh well enough of this. I'm not looking forward to the next car shopping expedition.
I did make a paper flower. What a surprise! lol
Someone on the MB posted about making life size roses. I can't remember who it was, sorry.  I tracked back about 20 pages and couldn't find the post.  Anyway I decided to try it.
This flower is from Flower Shoppe, Fun 1 cut at 10.56. The leaves are Fun 5 cut at 3.5. I have trouble making these spiral flowers so big. I really wanted the center smaller and next time I will start the rolling smaller.
So I decided to turn it int o a candlestick holder. Of course, it will have to be a battery operated one but I think it's a pretty good idea. You could make them for all occasions and holidays and they wouldn't cost a fortune.
You could decorate for anything with all the beautiful papers we have to choose from.
Take a look and let me know what you think.
This post is linked up at Pink by Design, Sarah Hamer Designs link up Tuesday

Thanks for visiting. And may we all get more crafting time. Hugs and God bless. Stephanie

Birthday Wishes

Hi, everyone. It has been so hectic here.Drs. appointments and shopping every day at Michaels, Hobby Lobby and JoAnns.  I bought over a dozen items and didn't pay full price for any of it. Yea!! I got McGill flower shapers kit,  new dies, embossing folders, 4 new B plates for my CB, photo box for storage and some inks. I call this week very good. Now I want to stay home and use all of this stuff.
My card today is a birthday card. It came about because I wanted to practice a flower I saw on a tutorial. This lady is so talented. You can see her work at Kittie Kraft.
This flower is made with Spellbinders - blossom 2. I liked it so much I had to use it on a card. The leaves are Spellbinders dies, flourish is Sizzix die and punches are MS hydrangea.
The labels are handcut rectangles that I used a ticket corner punch on. I won that punc h from Wendy at Livin Stampin Up. Thank you Wendy.
DCWV paper, a stamped greeting, bling and a computer sentiment and you're done.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Paper Playtime - birthday themed project
Little Scrap Pieces - must use a flower
Thanks so much for visiting. Hugs and God bless you all. Stephanie

Happy Easter Eve

Happy Saturday all. Hope all is well with you.  This is just a quick post.
I had a sample basket I made when I got TBBM2 and spiral flowers from Flower Shoppe already made. so I decided to put together a treat for my MIL.
Two days ago I received Spring Cottage so I decided to make the 3D strawberries and fill them with sugarfree candy. (she is diabetic) The frame around the bunnies on the side is a new MS around the page punch that I got this week at Michaels and the bunny is from Celebrate with Flourish.

Hope your day is wonderful. Thanks for spending time with me. Hugs and God bless.Stephanie

42 years and a Thank you

Hi, all. I have 2 matters of business today. Today is my 42nd wedding anniversary and I won "card of the week" at Die Cuttin Divas.  It was a very fun challenge,3 R's-rosettes, ribbon and rhinestones. I want to thank Georgiana very much for picking me. You should visit her and the DT at http://diecuttindivas.blogspot.com for some fun challenges. The next one is a sketch challenge. Thanks again Georgiana.
Now the anniversary part of this post. The last few years I seem to make my hubby a couple of cards for our anniversary. This is the one I made sure he would get at work.  This was one of those that started to form in my mind and I just couldn't let it go. It had to be  a card.
My grandson asked me who my favorite "super hero" was when I was a kid. I explained to him we didn't have many cartoons and they were only on TV on Saturday mornings for a couple of hours. But we did have one "hero".He was a flying mouse, Mighty Mouse!
My hubby's nickname is "Bird". It was given to him when he was a small boy and it has stuck with him. We met when we were 12 so that's what I have always called him.
Well I started thinking about Mighty Mouse and remembered the bird "super hero" on 3 Birds on Parade.
When Mighty Mouse was going to save Penelope Pitstop from Oilcan Harry he would sing, "Here I come to save the Dayyyy!" And he would always win.
So that's how this card came to be.
Recipe:
3 Birds on Parade - super hero bird cut at 1.82, small bird shadow cut at 1.0, and my hero cut at 2.87
Cricut Essentials - heart cut at 1.7
Sentiments - me and the computer, glitter, inking, punches and buttons

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you enjoyed  my card. Hugs and God bless.
