9/11 - honor

Hi everyone. This is a special challenge this week. Our lovely and very talented Brenda has chosen 9/11 - honor as our challenge for this week. I think most of us have pretty strong feelings about this day. It's one we will never forget. (and we shouldn't)
My card is very simple but it's what I feel.

Stand and Salute - silhouettes saluting cut at 2.0, statue of liberty cut at 4.76, United States cut at 2.65
I also used some "candies" that I glued a star on. I got these cute embellies from a very sweet blog friend, Jayne. Her blog is Jayne Designs and you should check out her projects. I guarantee you will be inspired.

Gabe and his skates

Before I get to today's post I want to say "Happy Grandparents Day" to everyone.  In Diane's post (Capadia Designs) she alerted me to this fact. Thank you Diane for always keeping me on track.
OK, for today. Some of you know that last Friday, the 7th, was my GS Gabe's 7th birthday. He surprised us by wanting skates. So that's what he got. (with pads and helmet, of course)
That child was so excited. He couldn't even stand straight when he put them on. But he can be very persistent and within an hour he had pretty good balance and was walking in them. They are in-lines which seem harder to me. So now he's skating fairly well.
He loves wearing the whole get-up. He thinks he looks really cool.
I decided his card needed a skate on it. I used the hockey skate from Sports Mania and turned it into an in-line skate. It is cut at 2.53. He had his favorite dinner, pizza so that is the inside cut. I used Fast Food, the whole pizza cut at 3.24.
He was very happy which makes us ecstatic.

Thanks so much for spending a part of your day with me. I really apperciate it.
Hugs and God bless you all.  Stephanie

Happy birthday

To day is my grandson's 7th birthday.
Remember yesterday's post, the picture? Well I found those little games to fit in treat bags for his class. I hope these kids enjoy them as much as I did when I was young.
I just made simple treats. I used clear cellophane bags and made a header. I made 23 of them.

Thank you

Hi, everyone.
Last Thursday, August 30th, work had a "coffee" for my retiring hubby. One of the men made a plague representing the name changes of the company in the last 45 years. Since my hubby was hired.
He was an inspector and one of the special tools they used was a hammer with a point on one end.  The father of the man who made the plaque made a hammer for it.
My hubby wanted a special thank you for this very nice man.
recipe:
Art Philosophy - card from page 63 cut at 5.0, leaves on page 43 cut at 2.41
The sentiment on the front is layered nesties rectangle. Inside I used punches to embellish. Left the back section open for hubs to write. A little inking and Anthology paper from Walmart.

Just remember you have to use your cricut.  Also be sure to visit  the rest of the DT's blogs and leave a little blog love.
I used Designer's Calendar for the jester hats cut at 1.47 and the masks cut at 3.0. A little glitter, bling and a couple of nesties labels.
