Another BIL card

God morning and happy Tuesday! How is your week so far?
This post is all about my other BIL whose birthday was Aug. 10th. This one was waiting on the birth of his first grandchild. Well the baby, a boy, Trent, was born on the 11th.

This BIL is a little crazy (well he likes to drive his daughters crazy) and does woodworking. I made him a pop up workbench card. I knew he would like it but I made it a little special, just for him.

You see, he's been telling his daughter he was going to insist the baby call him (are you ready for this)" Grrrandfatha". Roll the r and say with a very snooty accent. He's such a nut. So I put the name on his workbench. He loved it. It's been passed around a lot.

Take a look:

This was the first time I used sketch pens in my Cameo. I won a set of these fabulous pens from Diana at http://dianamlarson.blogspot.com.  I chose what machine I wanted the pen holder to work with and what set of pens I wanted. Guess what, they sent the whole collection. All 40 pens. A fabulous surprise.

Thanks so much Diana and Cri Kits.

Thanks so much for spending a little time here.

Hugs and God bless. Stephanie

A little sympathy

Happy Sunday, everyone. Are you able to do what you planned this weekend? Mine has not exactly worked out as hoped.(what a surprise) haha

Saturday hubby announced he wanted to make a batch of breakfast burritos. He is the only one who eats them, he likes to freeze them so he will have an easy breakfast before he leaves to play golf.

I told him fine but I was not doing them. (yeah, right)
We got it all cooked, he did not want any of it to be too wet. We let it cool and it was too dry. So he added water and reheated so the potatoes would smash. (he used the square diced frozen hash browns because he did not want them to smash) Still wasn't enough moisture. So he went to the store and bought 2 cans of refried beans. (he used whole pintos beans because he did not want them to be smashed) Now finally the texture is the right consistency. (does that make sense?)

So we let it all cool while we went to church. Got home and we made the individual burritos and got them ready for the freezer. This took care of my Saturday.

So I did not get my spooky cabin cut out. Which means I'm not putting it together this morning. (I know better than to plan what I want to do) This morning I spent at SVGCuts with Mary. I have been watching her videos of the kits I think I want. And guess what...I want all of them! I think I have replaced my cricut cartridge  obsession with SVGCuts! Oh well at least there are no calories or carbs.

Are you still here? I do have a card to show you. One of our neighbors died this past week. She lived here over 50 years. She lost her husband several years ago. She fell last year and my hubby found her outside. She was in a hospital then a rehab. She had a stroke and never got to come home again. We went to school with her kids so we've known her forever.

Here's her family's  card:

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you are enjoying your day.

Good morning!

Hello, and happy Saturday. Hope everyone is getting  a great start to their weekend. The only thing I have to do today is church this afternoon. I'm hoping to cut out all the pieces to SVGCuts new Spooky cabin so I can assemble it tomorrow.

Cutting always takes me a while. I have to watch the video to make sure I get all the pieces that go together in the right paper. I can't always tell just looking at them. One thing I am not is a paper engineer. lol

Todays post is really about my BIL. I have 2 BILs with a birthday tomorrow.  The card I'm showing today is the "jack-of-all-trades" one who lives in Houston. (master cabinet maker, makes lamps and sells them, raises chickens, has goats, collects mallard duck lamps, collects guns and guitars, etc. - he can build anything) He also makes wine, delish!

So this is his card:

Thanks so much for spending part of your day with me.

Couple of updates and a new card

Hi, all.

Thought I would let you know what happened with those horrible posts. I do not know! I haven't seen any in about a week. I tried to find some way to delete them by clicking one of them. I found a man's name saying he was a life coach. I clicked everything I could find in my bloglovin acct. Maybe something worked. All I know is I'm glad I haven't seen them in a week.

Love this update - Cade told his dad, my son, he thought his card was awesome and he kept it! With all the elaborate cards I've made that boy, this one impressed him. Jason made a point to tell me this because even he realizes Cade never cared a whit about the card. So right now he thinks I'm awesome! YEA me!

Ok, now for the card. I have a cousin whose birthday is today. I always send this cousin a card, we're pretty close. (and she appreciates the time it takes) She is very artistic and can do most anything.
I decided to use the butterfly easel card from Bird at Bird's cards. Have you seen her work? She has beautiful designs for free. A very talented lady.

Take a look:

It's very glittery but it doesn't show very well.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hugs and God bless.

Cade's birthday

Happy Monday everyone.

I can't believe school starts 3 weeks from today.  Last week we starting buying school supplies. They are always very specific about what they want and I found all but 2 of the 5 folders at Walmart.
The folders have to be poly (plastic) no paper ones, no brads, 3 holes and inside pockets. Found the 2 reds and a purple one. Now I need a green one and a yellow one. Shouldn't be too hard, right? We'll see. We also forgot about a backpack. and then there is clothes. And Gabriel HATES shopping!

He thinks my motto is "sometimes we have to do things we just don't want to do!" That's what I tell him when he asks, "Wouldn't you rather just stay home and relax?"

So he hears that quite a lot. lol Hopefully we will finish today.

Anyway, this weekend we celebrated another grandson's birthday, Cade he's now 11. (the reason for this post) He had a fun party at this sports gym. The kids played all types of ball games and had a great time.

His card is not very elaborate. (that doesn't impress him) It's a baseball shaped card but I like the inside. I think he liked the way he got his money. Since the boys would rather have money, I try to wrap a favorite snack in a special way.

A little lagniappe

Don't faint seeing another post so soon. lol

If you don't know what lagniappe means, it means extra. (Cajun French)

I was looking for some type of box for a gift and didn't know exactly what I wanted.  These were the leftovers, ie "extras". All 3 came from the Silhouette store. (where else?)

 Have a great afternoon.

Row house, finally!

Happy Friday, everyone. As you can see, I'm still not in a routine with posting. Some health issues keep me from doing what I want, when I want.

After my son went back to Florida, we started getting ready for a family wedding.  This involved some shopping. After a day shopping, and I'm talking only a couple of stores, I  have to stay off my foot for a couple of days.  Lots of family time, not much time for crafting.

So when SVGCuts released the Parkside Row House kit, it was 2 weeks before I got to make it.

Now it's taken me almost 2 weeks to get it posted.

Here it is:

Not loving the papers I used. It was either use what I had on hand or put off making it till I could get to JoAnn's for something better.

Now I'm waiting for the "new" SVGCuts Halloween kit. I'm so impatient.

Anyway, thanks for stopping by.
Hugs and God bless.
