A little more Christmas

Hi, all. Just a quick post.

Haven't been on the computer much, no time. Still getting things done for Christmas. So here is a little more décor to look at. I never got anything big done this year.

Have a blessed Christmas Eve.

Sunday night

Well, it's Sunday night and I'm ready  for bed.  At the last minute my son came in from Florida for the holidays and I don't have much computer time. And no time to play.

My son had back surgery 3 months ago and is not cleared to play golf or much of anything. So no golf for them. Which means no play time for me. lol

So I'm going to show you a little more of Christmas.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you are all ready for Christmas. I'm almost done.

Dec. 17, Thursday

Hi, Hope you are having a great week. I'm trying to get through with shopping. I hope to finish today.
I pray I finish today. lol

I just have a few gifts to buy. Really need to be finished. I have to think about food for the 3 Christmas celebrations we have next weekend, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Oh well, we'll get through it. I think everyone probably needs a good night's sleep.

I have a couple of cards to show you. These I am using for décor.

These are bendi cards from Dreaming Tree

Thanks for stopping by.

What you end up with-

Ok - I actually remembered to take pics of the "trash".

You may have gotten more than you bargained for. More than you ever wanted to know about Texas Trash."

This is all the different ingredients.

This is one bowl of the ingredients mixed in a 32 cup Tupperware bowl. I cook mine in an electric roaster. (just easier than bending over an oven) I also don't spill any inside my oven when I stir it. So it's the roaster for me. One bowlful, one roaster full.

This is the melted butter, worchestershire sauce and Tony's seasoning.
(I know, it looks like sludge) lol

Then pour the bowlful into the roaster. Stir until all of it is coated well. Cook at 250 degrees.  About every 20 minutes stir.
Do this for an hour and 15 min. to maybe 2 hours. You are toasting it and drying it out.

Once dried out pour onto paper bag or craft paper lined with newspaper, then topped with paper towels to cool.
Once cool, store in airtight container.
I started before 7 this morning. I cook 3 batches of this stuff. The last batch is in the roaster. It's 3 pm.
A long day. So basically, I did nothing but this today.
Sorry if I bored you out of your skulls!
Thanks for the visit.

Thought I would let you all in on what Texas Trash is - chex party mix on steroids! lol

This is what I put in mine:

corn, rice and wheat cjex
Cheetos                                          at least 2 cups of each ingredient stir all together
wheat thins
shoestring potatoes
Snyder's jalapeno pretzel bites
corn nuts
deluxe mixed nuts (no peanuts)
extra pecans

2 blocks of butter
1/2 cup of worchestershire sauce
4 heaping TBSP Tony Chacheres Cajun seasoning

melt butter in large pan/roaster and stir in worchestershire. and Tony's till all melted together .
Add cereals etc and stir to coat all of it. If it doesn't all fit in one pan you have to cook it twice or half the recipe. It's not exact, just use what you like.
You cook in oven at 250 degrees stirring every 20 minutes
I cook mine 1 - 1 1/2 hours usually. You are really drying it out. (you can use less butter and WS if you want. This is the way my family likes it.

When done, I pour it out onto craft paper lined with newspapers and topped with paper towels to cool. Let cool completely before putting into air tight containers.
And there you have it - Texas trash.
I have to set aside a whole day for this. I make more than one batch because we have to share with family and friends.
I'm planning to make mine this weekend. I'll try to post a pic.

Thanks for reading.

Thursday - 7 school days until Christmas vacation

Hello, hello, hello!

Are you having a good week? I am almost finished Christmas shopping. I can't wait to be finished. I need to make my "trash". They wait for this all year. I only make it at Christmas. It's expensive, I make a mess and it takes all day long!

Today I have a couple more cards to show you.

Thanks for stopping by.

Another Monday

Hi, and good morning.

How are y'all dealing with this Monday? I figure I will be back in the weekly school groove about the time we break for the Christmas holidays. lol

I have more Christmas décor to share with you.

SVGCuts - made to look like an antique book and has a drawer/box.

SVGCuts - This cute tree has a hinged top and the lid will actually stay shut if you lift it by the top.
I just love these files.
Thanks for the visit.

Happy Sunday

I hope you are all having a great weekend. Yesterday Gabe and I never left. He played outside for a while but that's about it.

I spent the day making miscellaneous items just for the heck of it while waiting and hoping for SVGCuts assembly tutorial to be released. It still hasn't been. You'd think after all the pieces I've done I wouldn't need the videos. But some designs really are very different and just the order you put pieces together makes a big difference. I'd rather be safe than sorry.

I like the way Mary works, I can understand what she is saying. Believe me that is a gift. I have bought some files that I couldn't make heads or tails of the instructions. It's like having a doctor explain things to you like you are a colleague instead of a lay person.

So that is one of the reasons SVGCuts is my favorite.

So today I'm posting some of the things I made to use for décor.

file from sil store

cute Santa box - SVGCuts

mitten box - SVGCuts
Thanks for stopping by. Have a great week.

Well, today was a long day. (first day back to school after a holiday is always hard for me) But Gabriel had a great day and that's what counts.

Today I'm going to show you the last of the cards I'll be sending out.

I do have lots of other cards to show but they are being used for décor.

Take a look:

Both of these are lever cards. They are such fun to make. (with Mary's files)

School again!

How was your Thanksgiving? We had a wonderful day. We spent it with my sister family and all our kids and grandkids. This sister always has some new kind of crazy game.

This year it was a game called Tenzies. It is so crazy and we laughed so much. I haven't laughed that much in years.

(I ate too much) And I'm still eating rice dressing. lol

OK, I have a couple of cards to show you.
(Boy this is one disjointed post, isn't it?)

Thanks for the visit.

Black Friday

OK, how many went shopping this morning? I didn't even consider it.. Even looking at all the ads couldn't make me budge. Frankly I didn't see anything I needed to buy.

I used to enjoy black Friday shopping but that time has passed.

I'm just glad my tree is up.

So here are another couple of Christmas cards..

Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Thanksgiving

Just a short post to wish you all a wonderful day.

Isn't this cool?

Have a great weekend.

An autumn barn

Happy Wednesday!
Well just one more day till Thanksgiving. I'm so tired. I got my tree up and have been decorating for several days. I usually put my tree up the weekend after Thanksgiving. Now I hope I can just relax. (and maybe craft just for fun) lol

Anyway here is my barn. Mary, SVGCuts , created this barn to be spooky for Halloween. I already had 2 spook houses and I needed something for after the 31st. I just love it.

Take a look:

 What do you think?

Thanks for stopping by.

Tuesday, November 24, 2015

Hello, Tuesday!

Hi, Is everyone ready for Thanksgiving?  We're getting together with my sister that lives ten minutes away from us. Our kids and grandkids. I can't wait.

It's funny that when your parents are gone, it's harder to get together.  Our parents and both our in-laws are gone. Just makes for some really strange holidays.

Anyway, Thursday should be fun. (and I won't even mention the food)

Today I'm going to show you what I made for my sisters. They are both so talented and always making something for me and their skills are marketable. I play with paper.

They are always amazed at what I make out of paper, but so much of it is not perfect. I never feel like it's good enough to give to someone. Then I found a file that had a true use and made out of paper.

I made them clocks. This is a fabulous file from SVGCuts. (bet that is a big surprise) It's called Maison de Madeline.
It actually took me weeks to do this after I decided what I would make. I was so afraid I wouldn't be able to make them good enough. They really weren't hard. They went together like clockwork. (sorry about that) lol

Anyway I finally got them done and I'm really happy with the end result.

Take a look:

This one is for Denise. She is always taking a trip so she has an airplane and postcard on hers.

This one is for Debbie. She loves clothes shopping and handbags so hers has a hanger and purse on it.
The papers are different but they are both from a Tim Holtz paper pad.
Thanks for stopping by.
Hugs and God bless. Stephanie
(they loved them)

Maybe a record?

I'm talking about the fact that I'm posting for the second time this week. Maybe a trend? I make no promises. lol I do have some more cards to show you.

I've made more Christmas décor but so far no photos. What happened to that photo fairy?

I was so excited to get my cards done early but I still haven't addressed them and gotten them ready to mail.

Here is a couple more cards.

I enjoy your visits. Have a great weekend.

Lets try this again...

I can't seem to get things right.

If I decide to post, I realize I don't have any new photos. If I do take photos, I forget about posting.

I did make a lot of Christmas cards 2 months ago and I took pics. Now I'm finally getting around to posting.

So here goes:

Thanks for taking the trouble to stop by. I hope to be more "here" in the future.

Hugs and God bless.
