A little more Christmas

Hi, all. Just a quick post.

Haven't been on the computer much, no time. Still getting things done for Christmas. So here is a little more décor to look at. I never got anything big done this year.

Have a blessed Christmas Eve.

Sunday night

Well, it's Sunday night and I'm ready  for bed.  At the last minute my son came in from Florida for the holidays and I don't have much computer time. And no time to play.

My son had back surgery 3 months ago and is not cleared to play golf or much of anything. So no golf for them. Which means no play time for me. lol

So I'm going to show you a little more of Christmas.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you are all ready for Christmas. I'm almost done.

Hugs and God bless. Stephanie

Dec. 17, Thursday

Hi, Hope you are having a great week. I'm trying to get through with shopping. I hope to finish today.
I pray I finish today. lol

I just have a few gifts to buy. Really need to be finished. I have to think about food for the 3 Christmas celebrations we have next weekend, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Oh well, we'll get through it. I think everyone probably needs a good night's sleep.

I have a couple of cards to show you. These I am using for décor.

These are bendi cards from Dreaming Tree

Thanks for stopping by.

What you end up with-

Ok - I actually remembered to take pics of the "trash".

You may have gotten more than you bargained for. More than you ever wanted to know about Texas Trash."

This is all the different ingredients.

This is one bowl of the ingredients mixed in a 32 cup Tupperware bowl. I cook mine in an electric roaster. (just easier than bending over an oven) I also don't spill any inside my oven when I stir it. So it's the roaster for me. One bowlful, one roaster full.

This is the melted butter, worchestershire sauce and Tony's seasoning.
(I know, it looks like sludge) lol

Then pour the bowlful into the roaster. Stir until all of it is coated well. Cook at 250 degrees.  About every 20 minutes stir.
Do this for an hour and 15 min. to maybe 2 hours. You are toasting it and drying it out.

Once dried out pour onto paper bag or craft paper lined with newspaper, then topped with paper towels to cool.
Once cool, store in airtight container.
I started before 7 this morning. I cook 3 batches of this stuff. The last batch is in the roaster. It's 3 pm.
A long day. So basically, I did nothing but this today.
Sorry if I bored you out of your skulls!
Thanks for the visit.

Thought I would let you all in on what Texas Trash is - chex party mix on steroids! lol

This is what I put in mine:

corn, rice and wheat cjex
Cheetos                                          at least 2 cups of each ingredient stir all together
wheat thins
shoestring potatoes
Snyder's jalapeno pretzel bites
corn nuts
deluxe mixed nuts (no peanuts)
extra pecans

2 blocks of butter
1/2 cup of worchestershire sauce
4 heaping TBSP Tony Chacheres Cajun seasoning

melt butter in large pan/roaster and stir in worchestershire. and Tony's till all melted together .
Add cereals etc and stir to coat all of it. If it doesn't all fit in one pan you have to cook it twice or half the recipe. It's not exact, just use what you like.
You cook in oven at 250 degrees stirring every 20 minutes
I cook mine 1 - 1 1/2 hours usually. You are really drying it out. (you can use less butter and WS if you want. This is the way my family likes it.

When done, I pour it out onto craft paper lined with newspapers and topped with paper towels to cool. Let cool completely before putting into air tight containers.
And there you have it - Texas trash.
I have to set aside a whole day for this. I make more than one batch because we have to share with family and friends.
I'm planning to make mine this weekend. I'll try to post a pic.

Thanks for reading.

Thursday - 7 school days until Christmas vacation

Hello, hello, hello!

Are you having a good week? I am almost finished Christmas shopping. I can't wait to be finished. I need to make my "trash". They wait for this all year. I only make it at Christmas. It's expensive, I make a mess and it takes all day long!

Today I have a couple more cards to show you.

Thanks for stopping by.

Another Monday

Hi, and good morning.

How are y'all dealing with this Monday? I figure I will be back in the weekly school groove about the time we break for the Christmas holidays. lol

I have more Christmas décor to share with you.

SVGCuts - made to look like an antique book and has a drawer/box.

SVGCuts - This cute tree has a hinged top and the lid will actually stay shut if you lift it by the top.
I just love these files.
Thanks for the visit.

Happy Sunday

I hope you are all having a great weekend. Yesterday Gabe and I never left. He played outside for a while but that's about it.

I spent the day making miscellaneous items just for the heck of it while waiting and hoping for SVGCuts assembly tutorial to be released. It still hasn't been. You'd think after all the pieces I've done I wouldn't need the videos. But some designs really are very different and just the order you put pieces together makes a big difference. I'd rather be safe than sorry.

I like the way Mary works, I can understand what she is saying. Believe me that is a gift. I have bought some files that I couldn't make heads or tails of the instructions. It's like having a doctor explain things to you like you are a colleague instead of a lay person.

So that is one of the reasons SVGCuts is my favorite.

So today I'm posting some of the things I made to use for décor.

file from sil store

cute Santa box - SVGCuts

mitten box - SVGCuts
Thanks for stopping by. Have a great week.

Well, today was a long day. (first day back to school after a holiday is always hard for me) But Gabriel had a great day and that's what counts.

Today I'm going to show you the last of the cards I'll be sending out.

I do have lots of other cards to show but they are being used for décor.

Take a look:

Both of these are lever cards. They are such fun to make. (with Mary's files)

Thanks for stopping by.
